Moving employees between organizations

Each shift Work period in WFM that has a definite length. assignment has a Scheduling period ID which associates it with an organization. When an employee is moved between organizations that do not belong to the same campaign Collection of scheduling periods in WFM, which are defined time periods where specific employees target specific workloads., the shift assignments must be assigned to a new scheduling period associated with the new organization. If the shift assignments for an employee are not assigned to new scheduling period, once the employee has moved orgs, the SP ID becomes invalid.

You have two options on how you deal with any outstanding shift assignments they have for the organization they are moving from.

You can choose to update each shift assignment manually. Or, you can configure your system so that a suitable scheduling period ID gets assigned automatically to the shift assignments.

Manually

Each shift assignment has a scheduling period ID (SP ID). This field contains the IDs of all the suitable scheduling periods available for that shift, based on the organization the employee belongs to.

A user must then open each shift assignment for the employee and assign them to another scheduling period, using the SP ID field.

To be able to edit the SP ID field, a user requires the Schedule Editing: Edit Scheduling Period of Shift Assignment privilege Permissions associated with each role that define the features of the application a user is able to view and the functionality in the application the user can access..

Automatically

Shift assignments get moved to suitable scheduling periods automatically if Enable auto update of SP ID when employees are moving organization is enabled in the Campaign Settings by a system administrator. Shift assignments get assigned to Scheduling periods of the new organization of the employee belongs to, or an organization in which the employee is pooling for.

A daily job runs which reassigns any shift assignments with an invalid SP ID to a scheduling period suitable for the employees new organization.

The SP ID field and the Enable auto update of SP ID when employees are moving organization option is currently being rolled out to cloud customers. They may not be available in your site just yet.
