Create a rule
Create a rule that defines the requests employees can submit for their schedules.
To suit your unique business needs, you can create and configure multiple rules for some of the same attributes. For example, you can configure a rule with the activity Core component of both schedules and time records in Workforce Management (WFM). When an employee performs any kind of work, activities specify the scheduled work and capture employee adherence to their schedule., Meeting, as a calendar event Scheduled event in WFM that is manually created on the schedule, can be a single instance or recurring event, and can have one or multiple attendees. Examples of calendar events are meetings or training sessions., for Organization A. Then, configure a different rule with the activity, Meeting, as a working shift event Time period in WFM when employees are scheduled for specific activities, other than the main shift activity. Shift events can either be productive or unproductive, and can be associated with activities such as Phone, Email, Break and Lunch., for Organization B.
You can also create and save multiple rules with the same main attributes with minor variations, and only activate one of those rules at a time. For example, you can configure rules with the same requested days, activities, and organizations, with different validations or roles settings, to suit different business peak periods. This feature gives you the flexibility to use similar rules with slight differences to meet your business needs.
