Create a shift collection

To control costs or resources around specific shifts, create a shift collection Group of shifts in WFM used to control costs or resources around specific shifts. Typically, the shifts in a shift collection are related in some way, such as a group of night shifts or delivery shifts. for an organization, which is a group of shifts. Typically, the shifts in a shift Work period in WFM that has a definite length. collection Group of back-office Contributions from one or more employees connected to a single customer or account captured by DPA. Once a shift collection is defined, set shift constraints Feature in WFM that assists in limiting the number of shifts scheduled for each day for an organization during a specific date range for all of the shifts in a shift collection. for each collection from the calendar. The shift constraints limit the number of shifts scheduled for a specific organization on a specific day for all of the shifts in the shift collection.

Before you begin

Create a shift

Procedure 

  1. Go to Work Administration. Under Work Rules, select Shift Collections.

  2. From the left pane, select the organization for which you want to create a shift collection.

    Child organizations inherit the shift collections defined for the parent organization.

  3. Optional. To view shift collections created for the ancestors of the organization (parents and grandparents), in addition to the shift collections created for the current organization, select the check box, Show inherited shift collections. To return to only viewing the shift collections created for the selected organization, clear this check box.

  4. From the right pane, select Create.

  5. From the Collection Details screen, enter the name, description, effective date range and assigned shifts for the shift collection.

  6. To assign shifts to the collection:

    1. From Available Shifts, select the shifts you want to assign to the collection.

      The shifts listed in the Available Shifts column are linked to the selected organization. For child organizations, the available shifts include all shifts associated with the parent and child organizations.

      Shifts can only be in one Shift Collection for each scheduling period. For example, you cannot add Shift A to Shift Collection 1 and Shift Collection 2 during the same 1-week scheduling period.

      You can only select shifts for shift collections that are created on an organizational level for all campaigns from the Work Administration module. You cannot select shift exceptions created for a specific scheduling period only from the Forecasting and Scheduling module.

    2. Click the Assign right arrow.

  7. To remove shifts from the shift collection:

    1. From Assigned Shifts, select the shifts you want to remove from the collection.

    2. Click the Assign left arrow.

  8. When you have completed the fields, select Save.

    The shift collection appears on the Shift Collections page for the organization. The columns that appear include Name, Description, Owner Organization, and Number of Shifts (in the collection).

    When a child organization is selected, the system displays any shift collections defined for both the parent and child organization. The organization displayed in the Owner Organization column indicates for which organization the shift collection was initially defined.
